No!!!..Bandaranayake family is not buried in the independent square!! It was built before thire death. They were buried in a separate place called “Bandaranayake Samadiya”.
And the next thing is, you don’t have to be a Budhist to be the President of Sri Lanaka according to the constitition. But most people vote for budhist candidates!!!
On one is buried at the independence hall nor you have to be a Buddhist to become president. Your guide is not very knowledgeable.
